Intelius CEO Is an IT Entrepreneur and Philanthropist
September 30th, 2009Naveen Jain, the chief executive officer and co-establisher of Intelius Incorporated, was born and raised in Uttar Pradesh, India. He later migrated to the United States to pursue a line of profession that only he can he mold. Equipped with an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from Xavier School of Management, he set out to explore the US IT market through a business exchange program.
One of his earlier jobs was at Microsoft Corporation. To him, it was an honor to have worked alongside his IT role model, Bill Gates. In the seven years he spent with the company, he had the opportunity to become its senior executive. In addition, he was one of the persons responsible for the launching of the Microsoft Network (MSN) and other significant operating systems.
Following his resignation from Microsoft in 1996, Naveen Jain founded his first company called InfoSpace Inc. Until 2000, he was the metasearch company’s chief executive officer. After two years, he resigned from the company and, together with his colleagues from InfoSpace and Microsoft, formed his second online business.
In 2003, Intelius began its operations by providing services and goods such as background checks and the award-winning IDWatch that help businesses and individual consumers look for dependable and comprehensive information. These data, in turn, secure them from any form of identity theft and fraudulence.
Although he works 24/7 to keep his company up and running, Naveen Jain, a devoted father and loving husband, never misses a chance to get together with his wife and three kids. However, on vacation trips with the family, he still brings with him his work. This is already part of his dedication to ensure the safety and protection of his consumers.
Aside from his work and family, he also spends his spare time completing philanthropic missions. The organizations that he supports focus on the youth, hunger mitigation, healthcare and education. One of the many institutions he has contributed to is the University of Washington, to which he endowed a scholarship program for the university’s engineering and business undergraduates. Other organizations include the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club and Hopelink.
