Less Skiing Trips for Sale this Coming Winter Season Means Fewer Discounts

Skiers can anticipate ski holidays to cost up to 17 per cent more for trips this coming season as chalet operators cut back the amount of vacations on offer.

Peak season dates will be especially dear yet even at different weeks there will be hardly any big discounts on skiing holidays.

Ski industry insiders report that with ski companies cutting back on holidays by as much as 28 % costs remain unlikely to be reduced.

Demand is even now beyond the number of beds available during February half-term which for the 2nd year occur on the same week for many the schools in England.

Price increases and a reduction in the no. of holidays comes after what was a very fine ski season for skiers with deep snow across Europe.

With the fall of the pound sterling versus the Euro obliterated margins of profit leaving a lot of small providers with losses.

The future looks brighter for snowboarders able to go on holiday in Jan or Mar, as prices will cost about 19 % on average, in place of 38 % for peak season weeks.

Airlines, ski transfers and skiing resorts are starting to recognize that they have to offer travelers discounts or deals. Resourceful holidaymakers will pay for as many add ons ” such as ski passes and ski hire ” in pounds sterling prior to leaving England.
